In the early morning hours of January 12. 1991, a quickly moving fire destroyed one of Warner, New Hampshire's finest and most historic homes, "Maple Ridge". Maple Ridge consisted of a beautiful 18-room Victorian mansion and adjacent cottages built in the 1880's by nationally prominent Medford, Massachusetts residents, Charles Stuart and Ella Farnam Pratt. The Pratts were editors and authors. Their son, Ralph, was an artist trained in Boston.

The Pratts were personal friends of Longfellow and Whittier. Maple Ridge was built as their "summer cottage" but soon become their year-round home.
Although the Inn was destroyed three of its adjacent cottages were spared. Your innkeeper hosts Walt and Debbie Bury, restored these cottages which now provide you with full private baths, combination TV/VCR/DVD, private porch and quiet undisturbed intimacy and all the amenities you would look for in a Bed & Breakfast with the additional benefit of having a private cottage so you remain undisturbed at night.
Before breakfast, you may wish to take a leisurely stroll on our property. Stop by our peaceful pond and maybe catch a glimpse of rainbow trout jumping or a rare Blue Heron searching for his next meal. If you're quiet, you might even catch a glimpse of the wildlife inhabitants for whom our B&B was named, the Box and Painted turtles.

We would be happy to take you to visit our barn or perhaps walk around the pond on a cool autumn evening.
Deb is a member of the League of NH Craftsmen juried in knitting. During your stay she would be happy to demonstrate spinning or help you with your knitting project.
